SILICONE, ACRYLIC AND HYBRID SILICONE/ACRYLIC

Roof coating systems by VFI protect a full range of roofing applications. They are manufactured to withstand the harsh environments of the southeastern United States, including Florida’s sub-tropical climate.

Roof Coating Systems

VFI manufactures a full line of Silicone and Acrylic roof coatings. Whether you are looking for products to do small repairs or recover the entire roof, we have the products to fit your needs. Our silicone coatings can be applied to all types of metal, single ply, modified bitumen, concrete, wood, and smooth built-up roofs.

VFI has engineered their products to stand up to the harsh environment of Florida. Our roofing products and assemblies have been thoroughly tested to meet all industry standards. We have Florida Product Approval, Dade County NOA’s and Factory Mutual approval.

When the existing roof has reached its useful life or is leaking we would recommend a full roof recover using either the VFI-600 Series Acrylic Restoration Coating System, SEALGUARD VFI-990 SILICONE high solids Roofing System, SEALGUARD VFI-991 SILICONE standard solids Roofing System, or our Acrylic/ Silicone Hybrid System. When these systems are applied by a certified VFI Applicator, an owner can receive a material warranty at no charge or a labor and material warranty for a fee from VFI. Our staff can help you decide which of these systems is best for your
application and recommend a VFI certified applicator in your area.

The basic principles to recover a roof are the same no matter which system we recommend for your particular roof. First, we must clean the roof Using VFI-1009 Cleaning Concentrate. A roof that is free from dirt, biological growth, and other contaminants is critical to the performance of any coating system. Next, we must make the roof seamless using flashing grade products, fabric and base coat, or some combination of both to seal roof penetrations, flashings and seams in the existing roofing system. Finally, we must protect the existing roofing substrate by applying the proper top coat at the proper thickness. Over time the top coat is what will be affected by the sun, wind, rain, and debris. When the useful life of the VFI Fluid Applied Roofing System is reached, all that is needed to renew the roof is additional layers of top coat.

There are times when we have only a small area of our roof that is leaking. While it is always best to do a full roof recover, budgets may not allow for this expense. With the proper mix of VFI flashing grade coatings, fabric reinforced coatings, and protective coatings, leaking roofs can be repaired for a fraction of the cost of traditional roofing. These coating repairs typically last ten times that of traditional roofing repairs.
