VFI-600 Series Acrylic Wood Recovery Board Coating System

There are times when it is necessary to use plywood, OSB, or other types of recovery boards such as in new construction, over a gravel roof, or to create a slope using tapered insulation. In situations where the roof slope will be greater than 3’/12″ the VFI-600 Series Acrylic Roofing System can be used as a stand-alone roofing system.

The substrate will first be made seamless and water-tight by treating all board seams, perimeters, penetrations, equipment curbs and roof field with VFI-640 Acrylic Gray Base Coat and VFI reinforcing fabric. Then the roof is coated with with VFI-605 Acrylic White Top Coat to protect the base coat and fabric from the effects of the environment. All that is required to rejuvenate the 600 Series Acrylic Roofing System at the end of it’s useful life is to add additional layers of VFI-605 Acrylic White Top Coat.

VFI-605 White Acrylic Top Coat is rated as a cool roof by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC). The result is a substantial reduction in cooling costs compared to traditional roofing.
